Britain’s Queen Elizabeth leads Garter Day ceremony in Windsor
Britain’s Queen Elizabeth attended the Garter Day ceremony at St. George’s Chapel near Windsor Castle on Monday (June 16), along with other members of the royal family.
In attendance were Prince William, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall as well as Charles’ brothers, Princes Andrew and Edward.
The “Most Noble Order of the Garter” is the oldest and most prestigious British order of chivalry and was established in 1348 by Edward III.
Those receiving the honour have held public office, contributed to national life or served the sovereign personally, according to the royal website.
