Indian foreign minister meets Myanmar’s Suu Kyi in Naypyidaw
Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday (May 11) met Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi in Naypyidaw.
Reportedly, seven agreements related to capacity building, renovation of Pagodas and other key areas were signed following talks between Suu Kyi and Swaraj.
Swaraj also met Myanmar Army Chief Min Aung Hlaing.
Myanmar is one of India‘s strategic neighbours and stands as the only ASEAN country adjoiningIndia and is therefore considered its gateway to South East Asia, with which India seeks to deepen political and economic ties through its ‘Act East’ policy.
