India’s Modi makes stopover to see Merkel in Berlin
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a short stop in Berlin on Friday (April 20) to sit down with German Chancellor Angela Merkel after concluding visits to Sweden and Britain.
The meeting between the leaders focused on bolstering economic cooperation between the two nations. Germany is India‘s largest trade partner within Europe.
“Had a wonderful meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel. We discussed multiple aspects relating to India-Germany cooperation as well as other global issues,” Modi tweeted.
It was Modi’s second official visit to Berlin to meet Merkel, but the first since she began her fourth and likely final term as chancellor last month
