“Poverty should be eradicated among Tamils in order to prevent religious conversion” – Jegatheesan.
Religious conversion has become a prevalent crisis among the people in the District of Ampara, said Divisional Secretary of Alayadivembu, V.Jegatheesan.
Addressing the event to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the Shivan Foundation in Kalmunai yesterday (7th), Jegatheesan further said that poverty should be eradicated from the area in order to prevent religious conversion. People have been converted by other faiths because of poverty.
The Tamil people have been facing poverty, and because this, education of our children too affected, he added.
