Australian cricketer David Warner arrives in Sydney after ball-tampering scandal
Australian cricketer David Warner arrived in Sydney late Thursday (March 29) comforted by wife Candice and their children after a ball-tampering scandal that has rocked the sport.
Warner told awaiting media at Sydney Airport that he would speak to them “in a couple of days” after he had time to think and rest.
Warner, along with team mates Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft, were suspended following a ball-tampering scandal during the third Test against South Africa which finished in a comfortable win for the hosts on Sunday (March 25).
An emotional Australia cricket coach Darren Lehmann also said on Thursday he was stepping down after this week’s test match against South Africa due to the abuse he and his family have received over the scandal.
