Sri Lanka’s UPR Report to be adopted at UNHRC Council Today
Sri Lanka’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Report under the 3rd cycle of the UPR will be adopted at the UNHR Council today. Though it’s been scheduled on 16th March, cancelled due to the protest of the protest of the UN officers.
The permanent representative of the Sri Lankan delegation for UN Ravinatha Aryasinha will represent Sri Lanka.
UN High Commissioner for Human rights, Zeid Ra’ad AL-Hussein is expected to submit the report interim report over Sri Lanka on 21st March.
Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister Tilak Marapana and Special Assignments Minister Sarath Amunugama will represent Sri Lanka during the 37th session of the UNHRC in Geneva on March 21.
