Brigadier Priyanka will Return to Sri Lanka- Army Spokesman
Sri Lanka Army Spokesman Sumith Atapattu says, Sri Lanka’s UK defence attache Brigadier Priyanka Fernando who was involved in recent protest controversy, will return to colombo for consultations.
He said this in response to a question raised by a journalist at a press conference held today (Wednesday) at the Government Information Department auditorium.
Brigadier Priyanka Fernando made a throat-slitting gestures at protesters outside the Sri Lankan High Commission in London on Sri Lanka’s Independence Day sparked debate.
Brigadier Fernando, who was suspended by the Foreign Ministry over the alleged incident, has been reinstated on the instructions of President Maithripala Sirisena.
