North Korean delegation returns home after inspecting Olympic venues in South Korea
A North Korean delegation returned to the North late on Saturday (January 27) after inspecting venues for its Olympic delegation who will be deployed to the upcoming Pyeonchang Winter Olympics.
The delegation, led by the deputy director at Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, wrapped up a three-day trip to the South on Saturday after looking around venues for the Taekwondo team who will be perform in Seoul to mark the Pyeongchang Olympics.
They arrived in South Korea on Thurday (January 25) and inspected various Olympic facilities in Gangneung and Pyeongchang for their athletes and officials for the first two days.
Under an agreement worked out during the first official talks between the two Koreas in two years, the joint team will wear the same jerseys and march under a unified peninsula flag at the Games’ opening ceremony on February 9.
