Public discontent on the Current Government: Basil Rajapaksa
Former Minister and member of the Podu Jana Peramuna Basil Rajapaksa addressing media charged President Maithripala Sirisena of attempting to extend his term by an additional year.
The Former Minister Rajapaksa said the Good Governance government claimed that it pruned powers of the Executive Presidency adding it was a big achievement according to them.
He added the Executive President had asked for a clarification on whether he can remain in power for 6 years.
Basil Rajapaksa noted the public had been inconvenienced on numerous counts under the current government from the Salawa explosion to the collapse of the garbage dump to several landslides adding the day to day affairs of the public have been hindered continuously.
The Foremer Minister stated the public will answer on the 10th of February.
