Murray has wobbly comeback at Abu Dhabi exhibition match
British tennis player Andy Murray had a shaky return to the court on Friday (December 29) losing 6-2 to Roberto’s Bautista Agut in a one-set exhibition game at the World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi.
Murray was called in to play after former world number one Novak Djokovic withdrew from the match with a elbow problem.
Murray has been out of competitive action for six months due to an ongoing hip problem but was in Abu Dhabi as part of his rehabilitation.
Bautista Agut raced to a 4-0 lead, before Murray found his rhythm holding his next two service games.
The world number 16 said he felt better as the match progressed, but acknowleged he would need to improve before next month’s Australian Open.
