Canada to boost immigration over the next three years
Canada will welcome nearly one million immigrants over the next three years, according to a plan offered by the Liberal government Wednesday (November 1), CBC, reported.
Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen, said that with the ratio of workers to retirees shrinking — immigration can help close that gap.
The number of economic migrants, family reunifications and refugees will climb to 310,000 in 2018, up from 300,000 this year, CBC reported. That number will rise to 330,000 in 2019 then 340,000 in 2020, CBC reported.
