Sri Lanka’s Appropriation Bill 2018 presented to Parliament
The Appropriation Bill for the Budget 2018 was presented in Parliament today (Monday) by State Minister of Finance Eran Wickremaratne.
According to the Bill, the expected expenditure for the next year is 3,982 Billion and the expected income is 2,175 Billion.
The budgetary allocations for the key sectors like Defense, Education and Healthcare have been substantially increased.
As 29,071 hundred thousand rupees allocated for national security, while the education sector had been allocated 10,288 hundred thousand rupees and 17,839 hundred thousand rupees for the health sector. Budgetary allocations for this year is more than 742 hundred thousand, comparing with last year budget.
In addition, Incentive for the students those who not attending school also included in this bill.
The second reading on this Bill will be held on 9th November.
