PM May is driving Britain to cliff-edge Brexit -Labour leader
A cliff-edge Brexit is at risk of becoming a reality under Prime Minister Theresa May, the leader of Britain’s main opposition party said on Wednesday (September 27, 2017), adding only Labour could win a good deal with the European Union.
Corbyn spoke at the end of the four-day annual Labour conference in the southern English town of Brighton. He criticised British Prime Minister Theresa May and her team’s Brexit negotiations, telling hundreds of party member’s talks had so far led nowhere.
May is struggling to unite her party over Britain’s negotiations to leave the European Union and to keep her own position, under threat from some in the party who cannot forgive the loss of their parliamentary majority in a June election she called.
