Former Minister A.H.M.Aswar passed away
A.H.M.Aswar former Muslim religious State Minister cum leader of the Muslim Progressive Front passed away, yesterday in a private hospital. He is 80 years old at the time of his demise. He left 4 children behind.
He started his life as a reporter to the Maharama and Thinakaran news papers. He joined the teaching profession and then entered politics through the Lanka Samasamaya Party and then crossed over to the UNP and became a national list MP. He is an adviser to the former President Mahinda Rajapakshe and an ardent supporter of Mahinda. He is a trilingual personality.
Burial will take place at Dehiwala Great Mosque. Remains at No:4. Bathya Mawatha, Dehiwala.
