British man charged with online child exploitation offences in Australia
A British tourist, who allegedly attempted to organise to meet with a 13-year-old Sydney girl, was arrested and charged with online child exploitation offences on Friday (August 11).
Last week, New South Wales Police undercover officers began communicating online with a man visiting Australian from the United Kingdom.
The man believed he was engaging in sexually-explicit conversations with a 13-year old girl and made arrangements for a meeting in Sydney after driving down the coast from Cairns.
Police arrested the 34-year-old man in Western Sydney on Friday morning and according to Australian media, will appear in court next week.
