Indian Finance Minister and Singapore’s deputy prime minister discuss financial ties

Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley met Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam in New Delhi on Friday (July 21) and held talks on boosting financial ties between the two countries.

During his three-day visit, Shanmugaratnam will also meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Indian economists. Shanmugaratnam will also address Delhi Economics Conclave-2017, to be inaugurated by Jaitley on Saturday (July 22).

The one-day conclave will have sessions on ‘The Future of Cash’ and ‘Data as the oil of the 21st Century: India’s Response’ and panel discussion on the issue of ‘Reclaiming Credibility and Effectiveness: The Challenge for the Economics Profession’, in which Singapore’s deputy prime minister will also participate.
