Progress in the creation of a new constitution: Lal Vijenayake
We have come to a conclusion with regard to the Power devolution and First preference to Buddhism said the Chairman of the People’s Survey Committee on Constitution, professor Lal Vijenayake.
He also stated that no conclusion was derived with regard to the electoral system, the power of the president and the authority of the governor.
He further stated that the reports and comments presented by the Constituent Assembly would be taken into consideration and would later put into discussion. And then the Constitution Bill making process will begin after the discussion, he pointed out.
