Leader of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) R. Sampanthan stated that the LTTE had extended their support to the TNA as much as possible.

Addressing in Kilinochchi after the meeting with the members of the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchchi (ITAK) today (July 12), Sampanthan stated that who formed the TNA was not important, but how the alliance move forward in collaboration should be looked at.

He added that they engage in politics under the TNA and not under the ITAK.

He added that he had discussed the problem regarding the missing individuals with both the President and the Prime Minister, and the government is currently on the path to provide solutions to the problems, adding that the government needed some time to execute the solutions discussed, and that if their attempt fails, the TNA will step in to carry out the reconciliation process.
