DMK leader M K Stalin, MLAs arrested after eviction from Assembly
DMK leader M K Stalin and other party leaders were detained after they staged a protest outside the Tamil Nadu assembly.
Stalin along with 86 other party leaders was evicted from the House after a pandemonium broke out inside the assembly on Wednesday morning when he demanded a debate on the alleged cash-for-vote scam.
Opposition DMK members tried to raise the issue of alleged horse trading of AIADMK MLAs ahead of the February 18 trust vote sought by Chief Minister K Palaniswami.
“I tried to raise the cash issue in assembly, but speaker didn’t allow. This TN govt headed by Edappadi K Palaniswami should be dissolved,” Stalin said.
Mr Stalin and his party held up placards that declared “Sale of MLAs”. Their request for a discussion was refused by the Speaker who said the issue is being reviewed by the Madras High Court as demanded by the opposition leader.
