Eastern University students pledge to continue to protest
The students attached to the Eastern University started protest against the management of the University.
They have kept five demands before the management to be dealt with such as completing the courses on time, removing the CCTV cameras installed in the university premises, resolving the Mahapola Scholarships crisis, resolving the issues of students’ hostels and removing ban on students that prevent from classes.
A student said that it takes six years to complete the course which is to be finished in four years. It is because of failing conducting examinations and releasing results on time.
The students feel insecurity and lack of freedom as the CCTV cameras in operation to monitor the activities of the student, he added.
