Delhi Police books 15 people over ‘morphed’ images of Sasikala Pushpa
Based on a complaint that Rajya Sabha MP Saiskala Pushpa’s morphed images and articles with obscene comments about her have been posted on the internet, Delhi Police’s cyber cell has booked 15 people, including former Tamil Nadu minister Gokula Indira and Ms. Pushpa’s former personal assistant Balamurugan.
Ms. Pushpa alleged that these images were posted on several websites including social media websites in a bid to defame her and tarnish her reputation.
The police confirmed that an FIR has been registered but refused to share any further details about the future course of action.
Ms. Pushpa said she had submitted a complaint to the Economic Offences Wing 15 days ago and the FIR was registered on Tuesday following a preliminary enquiry in which the police found that “there was evidence against those named in her complaint.”
She added that she had come to know about the objectionable material and had even approached the Tamil Nadu Police when former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was alive but no action was taken against any of the accused.
The list of 15 also includes MLA from Radhapuram constituency Inbadurai, former chairman of Sathankulam panchayat Anandha Raj and others, said Ms. Pushpa.
