Eastern Provincial Councilor Thavarasa Kalayarasan has said it would not be acceptable in any way to establish an army camp on a private land where LTTE slain soldiers were buried during the war time in Kanchikudicharu in the district of Ampara.

Visiting the area on the information of the area residents with regard to the preparation of the army camp, Mr. Kalayarasan had observed the scene and commented that it was not a suitable time to establish new army camps, adding that there are many camps in the district of Ampara.

He added that though many camps have been closed in the North, such moves were not taken to evacuate camps in Ampara district where army camps still located at schools and public places.
