British police released on Tuesday (November 29) CCTV footage of a road rage attack involving truck drivers by the side of a motorway.

Captured on November 9, the footage shows a lorry driver and his passenger speaking to a pick-up truck driver, who becomes abusive and attacks one of the men.

The lorry driver and his passenger return to their vehicles, and the pick-up driver is seen reversing his vehicle into the lorry, before smashing its window with a spade.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the men were discussing after their vehicles had collided as they both accessed the M62 motorway.

“The driver and passenger in the lorry were just trying to get on with their day’s work when they collided with the man in the pick-up truck. Accidents happen and they were attempting to deal with the situation in an appropriate manner,” said John Cavanagh from GMP’s Roads Policing Unit. “No one could have anticipated the level of violence they would then fall victim to.”

Neither of the men was seriously injured but they were left terrified by the attack, police said.
