New Zealand PM arrives in Laos for regional summit

Prime Minister of New Zealand arrived in Laos’ capital on Wednesday (September 7), ahead of multilateral talks with partners from the region.

John Key will meet counterparts from the 10 ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nation) and other leaders of world powers: China, Japan, United States, South Korea, India and Australia.

All leaders are set to meet tomorrow (September 8) in the East Asia Summit, which is the biggest annual meeting in the region of 600 million people.

Topics like South China Sea, human rights, trade, drugs, militants movement are expected to be discussed.
