Mahinda misleads mass; Tamils should not be carried away by negative thoughts – R.Sampanthan
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is planning to stage a march from Kandy to Colombo to disrupt the moves taken to solve the ethnic crisis through a new Constitution. The former President is trying to mislead the masses by creating problems for the present government. The Tamils at this stage should be cautious and act in a sensible manner, said Opposition Leader and leader of the TNA R.Sampanthan.
Speaking at a seminar, titled ‘Tamil Nationalism shaky’, held at the Gnanothayam Auditorium in Mannar on Sunday (July 17) Mr. Sampanthan stated.
Tamil people should not be carried away by negative thoughts. Creating negative impressions over our political aspirations is easy. But, we should build up a positive approach towards reaching an amicable solution to our problems. We want to live peacefully and enjoy equal rights with the other people in the country. But, there are elements trying to throw a challenge against healthy co- existence,” Sampanthan said.
Mr.Sampanthan called upon the people in the North and East to act sensibly at a time when several forces were making sinister moves to topple the good efforts taken to solve the ethnic crisis.
