Promises not fulfilled- will inform the UN: MP Sumanthiran

TNA parliamentarian M.A.Sumanthiran stated that, with the consent of Sri Lanka a resolution  passed in the Human Rights Council last year.

Therein, the Sri Lankan government made promises as many issues would be fulfill. Although some matters like creating new constitution have been carried out by the government, many issues like land release and release of detainees which were confirmed as would be completed in the Human Rights Council, but are not still now.

Further he blamed that acquiring additional land is also carried out by the government.

Sumanthiran made this observation in a media briefing.

He added that, we will explain the fact on the stance of government in the process of fulfill the resolutions which were promised by the government in the Human Rights Council to the Commissioner of the UN Human Rights Council and its member states.
