Indian vehicle maker Mahindra launches electric sedan in New Delhi

Indian vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra on Thursday (June 02) launched electric sedan in New Delhi ahead of the World Environment Day.

The car named ‘e Verito’ runs on batteries.

Chief executive officer, Mahindra & Mahindra, Arvind Mahindra, and president and chief (automotive), Mahindra & Mahindra, Pravin Shah, were present during the launch of the car.

The car emits zero-emissions and is priced in the range of rupees 9.5 to one million (USD 14,125.35 to 14,868.79).

“You know the 5th of June is the World Environment Day. In that week, we are launching the e Verito and raising our contribution in the global awareness to take positive environmental actions to protect the planet earth,” said Shah.

The electric car can be charged in about two hours and can run 110 kilometers.

“The speciality of e Verito is it is a full-fledged Sedan. It has five doors, full-fledged trunk is available. This car will provide with a range of 110 kilometers. There is also an option of fast charging. In around one hour and forty-five minutes, almost 80- 85 per cent of the battery gets fully charged,” said Shah.
