China actively prepares for G20 summit
China, as the host country for the 2016 G20 Summit, is actively preparing for the trade and investment meeting and related activities, said spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday.
Combined with opinions and suggestions of different parties, China put forward and developed several cooperation initiatives including the Job Responsibilities of Trade and Investment Working Group, the G20 Global Trade Growth Strategy, the G20’s Contribution to Supporting the Multilateral Trade System, the G20 Global Investment Guideline, and the Strategic Plan on Capacity Building of Global Value Chain, at the second G20 Trade and Investment Working Group meeting, said Shen Danyang, the spokesman at a regular news briefing in Beijing.
“Overall, the working group meeting held in April was fruitful. All parties involved reached more consensuses through the meeting, which laid a solid foundation for the economic and trade results to be achieved at the July’s G20 Trade Ministers Meeting in Shanghai and the September’s G20 Summit in Hangzhou. Next, all parties will use this opportunity to negotiate at the July’s third working group meeting so as to achieve a comprehensive consensus as soon as possible,” said Shen.
