DMK Chief Karunanithi questioned to Tamil Nadu state government on purchasing high price solar power from Adani group.

He made this observation in a report relating to the solar project released yesterday.

State-run TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation) and Adani Group signed an agreement in July 2015 in the presence of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

As part of this agreement, the state government decided to buy the entire solar power to be produced by the company at a price of Rs 7.01, a unit fixed by TN Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Karunanidhi added that the controversy has arisen recently over the project cause to alter the allegations of opposition as truth.

He questioned, Tamil Nadu state government signed an agreement to purchasing power without an electrical current analysis and fulfilling the need of land to power generation, is it right?

While Adani group fixed high price to solar power only for Tami Nadu, why accept it and why didn’t take action against it?

He also questioned that, if 947 MW power is purchased in high price, then government will lost 7576 crore, isn’t? What is the answer for this question, he added.
