The May 17 movement has announced that a protest would be staged in Chennai besieging the UN office.

The protest will be conducted on some demands like, an international inquiry over the war crimes, an immediate referendum for the independence of Thamizheezham, removal of the army from the Tamil areas, and the release of Tamil political prisoners.

The protest is to be staged on day that marks the death remembrance of Murugathaas who set himself fire in front of the UN office in Adaiyar urging justice for the Eazham Tamils, the movement said.
