Novak Djokovic deserves a “star” next to his name for his spectacular accomplishments during the 2015 season but the men’s game is not simply a matter of the Serb versus the rest, according to Roger Federer on Saturday (January 16).

Djokovic won 11 titles in a stellar season, including three of the four grand slams, and heads into the Australian Open the raging favourite to capture his sixth title at Melbourne Park.

The world Number One’s dominance has seen pundits line up to declare the end of the ‘Big Four’ – of Federer, Rafa Nadal and Andy Murray being able to compete on equal terms with Djokovic at the grand slams.

But Federer said the idea of a Djokovic dictatorship was on shaky ground, given Stan Wawrinka’s upset of the Serb for the French Open crown.

“It completely depends what you’re looking at. If you’re looking at (Djokovic’s) season, he was the most dominant player by far last year,” Federer told reporters at Melbourne Park on Saturday.
