Wedding cake of Princess Diana and Prince Charles on auction

A 34-year-old slice of cake from the royal wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles and a White House rocking chair used by John F. Kennedy will be among the items auctioned off online on Thursday.

The cake slice of fruitcake being auctioned is packaged in the original white and silver presentation box dated Buckingham Palace 29 July 1981, with Prince of Wales’ feathers and ”CD” monogram.

The cake slice includes the original gift card stating: “With best wishes from / Their Royal Highnesses / The Prince & Princess of Wales.” The entire slice is wrapped in original wax paper and doily.

The solid oak rocking chair features horizontal slats on the back of the chair; with the overall design that is simple. In the past, President Kennedy’s rocking chairs have commanded as much as 500,000 dollars in previous auctions.
