Sharing his vision for India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that he wanted every countryman to have his own house by 2022.

“India will celebrate its 75th Independence Day in 2022 and it is my dream that every Indian has his own house as a part of this celebration,” said Modi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi exhorted workers of his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of provincial polls due next year in southern Kerala state.

Addressing party members in Thrissur town, Modi lauded their efforts for putting up a good show in last month’s local body polls.

BJP is trying to gain foothold in a state primarily dominated by two political fronts -the Communist Party of India (Marxist)/Communist Party of India-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the Indian National Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF).

It had won the elections in 14 village bodies and 1 civic body in last month’s polls.

Modi is in Kerala on a two-day visit. His visit stirred a controversy when the chief minister of Congress-ruled Kerala, Oommen Chandy, was allegedly asked to stay out of today’s function.
