The underground mansion at President’s House was not built for Mahinda Rajapakse’s own purpose but for the security of the country, said Gotabaya Rajapakse while expressing his opinion to a media.

Imposed allegations regarding the construction of the underground bunger are baseless. There was a need for the construction of such a bunker during the war time to protect the country’s state leaders, Gota said.

In addition, he said, it was built according to the advice of the Army Commander and the Security Division as there were possibilities of  LTTE’s aerial attack during the final war.
