Finance Minister leaves for Peru to attend IMF meeting

Finance minister Ravi Karunanayake has gone to Peru to attend the annual meeting of the World Bank and the International Monitory Fund (IMF).

The meeting is to be held at Lima, the capital of Peru from Oct 6 to 11. The finance minister is accompanied by the Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran and  R.H.S Samarathunga, Secretary of Treasury and the Finance Ministry.

It is said that the minister discuss on the matter of extending the development activities proceeded in the country. He will also talk to chief representatives about the possibilities of getting fund.

It is notable that Sri lanka annually receives 400 million dollars from the world bank and IMF.
