British Prime Minister David Cameron welcomed Danish Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen on Monday (September 21) as he arrived in London to discuss the migrant situation in Europe.
Earlier this month, Cameron pledged Britain will take in up to 20,000 Syrian refugees over the next five years, responding to public clamour for his government to help those fleeing civil war in the country.
The first Syrian refugees are being brought to Britain direct from camps in the Middle East under the government’s expanded scheme to resettle only the most vulnerable.
They are to arrive in the “coming days” according to UK Home Secretary Theresa May.
