Rainstorms have lashed large swathes of south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region since Wednesday, damaging houses, disrupting traffic and killing several people.
On Wednesday, another round of rainfall battered Yongfu city, bringing more chaos.
Heavy rain with up to 300 mm of rainfall lasted over 12 hours, flooding 23 residential areas.
Rescue teams used inflatable boats to transfer trapped residents to safety.
According to the region’s civil affairs authorities, over 2,000 people were affected by the heavy rain in the region. So far, all affected-victims have been moved to safety.
