Malaysia’s diving team prepared for the biennial Southeast Asian (SEA) Games today (Monday), hoping to win all eight gold medals in the upcoming Games in Singapore. Diver Ooi Tze Liang, the first male to win a diving gold medal for Malaysia in the Commonwealth Games, was practising at the National Aquatic Centre in Kuala Lumpur.

He said the team will take off to China for training starting next week, preparing for the SEA Games that will kick off in early June.

Malaysia will compete in 35 sports during the Games, and aim for around 50 gold medals, Malaysia’s SEA Games chef-de-mission Norza Zakaria said.

Most of the medals will come from diving, which secured all eight gold medals in 2013 SEA Games.
