This is the moment police were forced to smash a car window to save a baby trapped inside a car. The eight-month-old tot was stuck in the car alone and without any fresh air coming in after its mother accidentally locked her keys inside the powerful Range Rover. With temperatures reaching almost 23C yesterday, the baby’s mother became increasingly distressed as the heat inside the car built up while it was parked up in Surbiton, south-west London.

The child was finally freed when an officer, arrived and smashed the car’s window with his baton, opened the door and got the child out. the police spokesperson said: Police were called at 12.35 pm to Douglas Road following reports that a motorist had accidentally locked her keys in her car while her child was inside. Officers attended and the decision was taken to force entry to the vehicle. Then they saved the baby. The baby did not require any medical treatments.
